The street food gets better. A Thai local knows which cart has been there for thirty years and which one opened last week. They know what to order without looking at the menu.

Find a neighbourhood coffee shop and stay for two hours. Bangkok's independent coffee culture is extraordinary, and the best places aren't on any list.
Take a tuk-tuk with someone who knows when to take one and when not to. The tourist version is a trap. The local version is still a joy.
